The Elan Ripstick 96 defines all-mountain versatility. At this width, the 96 truly tackles anything and everything on the mountain. This ski is intuitive, versatile, and still stable at speed despite its lightweight construction. Narrow enough for bumps and tight trees, but wide enough for a couple of inches of fresh. Just like the versatility of this ski, there’s versatility in who will enjoy it. Designed to be easy to control by intermediate skiers, an expert will also appreciate the performance while testing the ski’s limits.
The addition of TNT technology combines woodcore from tip to tail, with carbon rods along each rail and Vapor tip inserts in the tip and tail to reduce swing weight and chatter.
Like the other Ripsticks, the Ripstick 96’s rocker profile is asymmetrical, with the rocker lines on its inside edges being shorter than those on the outside. The goal — to create better edge hold and power transfer where you need it while maintaining a looser, easier-to-pivot feel on the outside edges.
Features:
- Carbon Line Technology
Amphibio Carbon Line technology is a combination of innovations that provide the best balance of lightweight construction with power and performance.
Amphibio Carbon Line technology elevates the asymmetrical ski design to the next level by strategically locating carbon reinforcement over the inside edges of the skis providing more power in the turn, while carbon rods inserted into the woodcore maximize weight savings and overall stability.
The end result is an extremely lightweight high performance ski with uncompromised versatility and smooth performance. - Fiberglass
Fiberglass reinforcement optimizes the flex pattern and enhances torsional rigidity of the ski. The fiberglass is positioned either above or below the ski core and improves a skis structual integrity. - VaporTip Reinforcement
Vapor inserts are advanced composites integrated into the tip and tail area of the ski‘s core. These inserts reduce weight and vibration, dramatically improving stability and ensuring a smooth ride even in the most demanding conditions. - TubeLite Woodcore
I would take these babies out where I really enjoyed the additional power, they offered on the ski down. I could turn up the dial quite a bit as I laid out each turn and I felt confident to take more aggressive lines than I typically would ski touring on lighter touring skis. The technology upgrades and subtle design refinements have enhanced all the qualities that made the Ripstick 102s already a super fun ski. Now instead of skiing groomers well the 102s rail on groomers and the power offered through the geometry of their asymmetrical Amphibio design is noticeably more thanks to the rigidity offered by the carbon inserts. - SST Construction
The SST Construction provides quick, nimble and direct power transmission from the ski to snow as well as providing exceptional torsional rigidity. - Carbon tubes inserts
Lightweight Carbon tubes inserted into the ski and run the length of the ski following the arc of the side cut. The carbon tubes provide torsional stability and powerful rebound while allowing for material reduction of the core. The result is incredible lightweight response and stability.
